.Does acid rain affect building materials? Yes, acid rain has a great affect on building materials. Acid rain eats away at many building materials. The acid dissolves calcium carbonate in the stone and evaporates, forming crystals within the stone. Acid rain may take extremely long but it has a great effect on building materials. Business would have to spend more of their money on building materials instead of on the stuff they need creating problems money wise.
.Does acid rain have an effect on architecture? Costs would be high on buildings with acid rain damage. The paint and many other building materials would be destroyed. Costs for business would up and it would cost more to repair the problems. Thus it would cost more to live in an acid rain rich environment.
.What does acid rain do to our roads, highways, and bridges? Our roads, highways, and bridges are also affected by acid rain. Acid rain damages so much that it caused a bridge to collapse, killing forty-five people with it. This making more tax dollars go to highways and road repair. Thus making people mad because of the up rise in taxes.4.What is the effect of acid rain on things made from metal such as automobiles, trains, buses, and other means of transportation? Acid rain affects things made of metal. Acid rain causes metal to rust because of its acid. The color on cars is caused to look very old and bad because of acid rain. In effect the resale value of many means of transportation is decreased. 5.What does the effect of acid rain cost us in terms of money? Acid rain has caused a lot of problems, which costs us a lot of money. Acid rain causes around one billion dollars worth of damage in Canada every year. If these things always get destroyed, the government will make taxes go higher to help pay for the damages of acid rain. Acid rain has a great affect on a big industry in Canada; the Maple Trees. This costs money to repair, and if they don't want to repair them after a while because it costs too much money, then many people who work in this industry will lose their jobs. 6. What are the economic consequences of acid rain on fisheries, forestry, and agriculture? Fishermen have a harder time catching fish because acid rain pollutes lakes and rivers and fish can't live in them anymore. As a lake becomes more acidic, many of its small life forms die. This removes the food source for fish, which then die as well. Water polluted fish don't reproduce. So therefore many fisherman won’t get the profits the need and want. Acid rain also affects trees. The acid reacts with many nutrients a tree needs, such as, calcium. This makes trees starve doing damage to the fruits that are growing and make trees weak enough to be blown by the wind.
.How would each of the other members help you to solve the problem of acid rain?
Health Scientists would help by being worried about the health problems of citizens. They would try to cure diseases caused by acid rain. A Biologist would be concerned with the environment. Therefore they would try to help me out by trying to fix the problems with the roads, bridges, factories, and etc. Chemists would help out by making chemicals to help rid the problem of acid rain. All these would help out the economy and help more people spend the money they have on the stuff the want and need.
.What would you do to help combat the problem of acid rain? I would worry about the effects acid rain has on the economy. Thus I would try to raise money to help out. I would hold as many fund raisers as I could.
.Would you need any outside help to combat this serious problem and list what you would have them do and why? Yes I would need all the help I could get. A Biologist would help me out by trying to solve the problem acid rain has on business. They would tell me how and point out the problem it does to the environment. They would also plants things like crops or even plants in town to help raise money. A chemist would help me by making chemicals that would destroy acid rain before it can affect people’s jobs and business.
